Frequently Asked Questions
What should I bring?
Pacific Yoga offers the following for community use in the studio, free of charge:
- Jade Yoga mats
- cork blocks
- straps
- blankets
- bolsters
If you have your own mat and love it, feel free to BYO!
Bring a towel if you know you are prone to perspiration. And, of course, bring some water to hydrate after class!
What should I wear?
Yoga pants/short and a tank top are standard attire for practice, but not necessary! Light, breathable clothing that allows you to move freely and won’t be an issue upside down is a good idea.
Yoga is best done barefoot, so be prepared to kick off your shoes and socks.
For Restorative Yoga + Yoga Nidra, it is recommended to wear a comfy layer (your favorite hoodie, soft socks) to ensure that you are warm enough to relax deeply.
What should I expect?
Our hope is that you feel right at home in our cozy space! Expect to…
- be welcomed and met where and how you are, from “hello” and all throughout your practice.
- move mindfully, and breathe consciously. Hatha Yoga is a practice of balance, and while most classes are taught in the Vinyasa Flow style, are tempered and adapted towards the needs of the students present.
- be guided and supported, and assisted in modifying as needed.
- meet new friends, who also live in the neighborhood, and who are like-minded about conscious living and self-care.
- leave feeling refreshed, grounded and centered…and eager to come back for more!
Parents, please know that this is a safe, family-friendly and supportive space. We are huge proponents of postpartum support. Diaper changes and breastfeeding are always welcome. Fussy babies and tired parents will find an easy-going atmosphere surrounded by other parents who get it. Expect to find your village here.
