Yoga Retreats

Imagine this…

You wake to the sounds of the jungle.

Not a distant nature soundtrack, but the full immersive presence of it. Birds and insects singing their morning songs. Wildlife moving through the canopy. Warm air already alive with movement.

You unroll your mat high in the treetops. Just you and the forest, breathing each other. Life here moves at a languid pace. The only thing rushing is the turquoise river below.

Elemental Rhythms

Elemental Rhythms is a weeklong immersion in nature and practice in Costa Rica.

It is an invitation to step out of the pace you’ve grown used to, and return to a rhythm that feels more honest in your body.

Through daily yoga, time in nature, rest, play, and soulful community, you are supported in letting the nervous system settle enough that you can actually hear yourself again.

People often arrive a little full, a little weary, a little far from their center.

They leave feeling clearer, softer, and more connected to what is real.

“Pacific Yoga and Nicole are truly a hidden gem. The Costa Rica retreat was absolutely life-changing—the setting, the yoga, and the shared experiences were unforgettable. I had meaningful breakthroughs and came home feeling fundamentally shifted, with tools and insights I still carry into my daily life.”
— Becky F.

Welcome to Costa Rica

You arrive in Costa Rica and travel by private shuttle into the jungle mountains of Esquipulas, near Manuel Antonio on the central Pacific coast. This lush region is the birthplace of Pacific Yoga, where days move to the rhythm of the jungle: symphonies of birds, flowing waters, tropical breezes, and a rich spaciousness that invites you to soften and breathe deeper.

Our home for the week is Chorro Ecolodge, a small sanctuary tucked deep in the rainforest, just steps from the Naranjo River.

This is not a resort environment. It is simple, alive, and intentionally attuned to the land.

Days here move differently. You begin to notice small things again. Light shifting through leaves. Water moving over stone. The quiet intelligence of nature when you stop rushing past it.

Jungle Living

You stay in safari-style glamping tents tucked gently into the landscape.

Each tent includes electricity, fans, deliciously comfortable bedding, and a private outdoor bathroom with hot water, surrounded by greenery.

The experience is simple but deeply supportive, designed so you can feel held by nature without being deprived by it.

Wildlife is part of daily life here. Monkeys, birds, iguanas, sloths, and more move through the shared ecosystem of the land, constant reminders to play, savor community, seek nourishment, and unapologetically rest.

“Nicole is an exceptional teacher. On the Costa Rica retreat, she held space with such care and attention that every student felt supported, seen, and challenged in just the right ways. Her guidance isn’t just about the poses—it’s about connecting with your breath, your body, and yourself on a deeper level. I left feeling transformed, inspired, and truly connected to both the practice and myself.”
— Angeliki P.

Practice

Each day’s practice is an invitation to meet yourself more honestly.

We move through a blend of hatha, vinyasa, restorative yoga, breathwork, meditation, and yoga nidra.

Practice is not about performance here. It is about listening.

Nicole teaches in a way that supports different bodies, different histories, and different energy levels, while still inviting depth and presence.

This is a space to rebuild trust with your own body and rhythm, not to push beyond it.

“This retreat was incredibly special. Each practice was intentional, rooted in breath, and deeply connected to the rhythm of the jungle. Nicole holds space with such authenticity—it becomes more than yoga, it becomes a connection to yourself and something greater.”
— Amy L.

Culture and Community

Fresh, wholesome meals will be shared in community, and prepared with love by local women, using traditional Costa Rican recipes and locally-sourced ingredients.

After morning practice each day, we’ll be welcomed into the home of Doña Luz, who will prepare us wholesome typical Costa Rican breakfast in her wood-burning stove.

Daily Exploration

Each day’s practice and adventure will guide us in exploring our connection to nature as medicine, with options to bathe in waterfalls or float in the river, wander hiking trails or bask on a sun-warmed boulder in the Naranjo, all just steps away from your tent on the grounds of the lodge.

Add-on excursions include strolling or surfing the breathtaking beaches of Manuel Antonio, taking a bird’s-eye view from hanging bridges, slathering yourself in natural clay, playing in Nauyaca Falls, and experiencing the magic of a Costa Rican sunset from the deck of a catamaran.

Stay with the group or savor on your own. There will be plenty of time for journaling, reflection, exploration, hammock hangs (and massages).

“I came to Nicole after a serious back injury, hesitant to do yoga again. Through private sessions and retreats, she helped me regain confidence, find modifications for every pose, and rebuild trust in my body. Five years later, I have nearly 100% pain-free days—and I credit Nicole entirely. Her retreats aren’t just yoga—they’re life-changing experiences.”
— Meg M.

Find Balance

Enjoy a perfect balance of structured practice and free time to savor the beauty of the surroundings.

Evening yoga and meditation practice will help you digest each day’s experiences and whet your appetite for each delicious dinner of traditional Costa Rican cuisine prepared by a private chef.

Each evening, wind down gathered by the firepit or taking in the stars.

“As 70-somethings, we were worried about keeping up with two yoga sessions a day, but Nicole’s approach meets each person exactly where they are. Her teaching is so reassuring. I came home completely blissed out.”
— Jane B.

What this retreat is really about

This retreat is not about adding more to or escaping from your life.

It is about unplugging to reconnect with what’s real, and creating enough space that you can feel what has been there all along.

Through time in nature and daily practice, something begins to reorganize itself quietly inside you.

You start to notice your own rhythm again, not cultivated but restored.

Daily Rhythm

Each day is built around a steady, nourishing rhythm rather than a packed schedule.

Morning
We begin with yoga and meditation high up in the canopy on a buttery teak platform overlooking the river. Practice is guided by Nicole and shaped by the energy of the group and the day itself.

After practice, we share breakfast prepared by local hands, including traditional Costa Rican food made over a wood-burning stove by Doña Luz.

Midday
Time opens. You may rest in hammocks or sprawled on a sun-warmed boulder, explore the river, walk the land, book bodywork, or join optional group excursions to waterfalls, beaches, hanging bridges, or nearby towns.

Or you may do nothing at all.

Evening
We return to practice as the sun lowers. Evening sessions are slower, more reflective, designed to integrate the day.

Dinner is shared together, followed by time around the fire, under the stars, or in quiet retreat into your own space.
